Overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, we often see various tides and given our Brewery’s name, High Bluff Brewing, we thought it very appropriate to name our beers after tides that we felt best described each beer!
High Tide
When the water reaches its highest point over a period of time.
This seemed the most appropriate name for our signature IPA given with its full hop flavor (6.5% ABV)!
Neap Tide
When low tides are higher than average and high tides are lower than average, a smaller difference between high and low tides.
This seemed the most appropriate name for our Kolsch as while it has a crisp and dry quality for a light and bit fruity beer (5% ABV) it has a subtle hop flavor that is pleasantly surprising!
Ebb Tide
When the tide is falling away, receding.
falling away from the hops of our IPA to an exceptionally clean and refreshing taste, we felt this most appropriate for our Kristalweizen (5% ABV)!
Low Tide
As the tide reaches its lowest ebb, retreating,
retreating from the intensity of our IPA to a remarkably deep and rich flavor profile, we found this most suitable for our Stout (7.0% ABV)!
